We found them as we were unloading our luggage in our assigned room at the MTC. Here is a picture of them sitting behind us in the chapel orientation session (before we were asked NOT to take pictures in the chapel - my bad)
Every minute of our day was scheduled. A wonderful lunch and devotional by our Mission President here at the MTC. Lots and lots of information regarding where to find the laundry, workout rooms, nap rooms, classrooms, etc. What to do if....... What to bring tomorrow to class..... Who to call if.......... Stuff like that.
We met lots of wonderful couples and single sisters. There are 13!!!! couples going to Nauvoo. Two couples have our assignment to Palmyra. We are the only ones going to Chicago. Others are going to Hawaii, Russia, Philippines, and Washington DC. There are several couples who will be serving in their own Ward and Stake as member and leadership support missionaries. This is actually the same call Craig and I will be doing, only instead of doing it at home, we will be in Chicago. There are about 120 senior missionaries in our group. We kind of "stick out" here. Oh yeah, the best part: We can ride in the elevator, and walk up to the front of the serving lines at breakfast and dinner.
I may not post again until we leave the MTC. Training every day although interesting is probably not going to be very exciting. We can leave in the evenings if we want although tomorrow evening there is a devotional. Craig still needs to pick up a couple of white shirts, and maybe some casual clothes. (He left all of them at my daughter's house in Draper.) I actually went to the workout room and walked on the treadmill for about a half an hour (listening to Wait Wait....). I think we are going to watch a movie on Netflix and call it a night. This missionary stuff is pretty good so far. No time to miss anyone yet. AND we don't have to wear our "church" clothes while traveling in the car. YEA!!!
