MTC day 3

We have spent the past two days learning how to be effective teachers and missionaries.  We have had some nice surprises along the way.
I was sitting in a meeting on Tuesday night when I couldn't stop staring at the couple sitting in front of us.  He looked so familiar but I couldn't place them.  I saw that her name was Robinson.  I asked her if she had ever lived in California.  Yes, she said she had lived in a city called Phillips Ranch.  I knew her right away.  Her husband, Craig, was our bishop in 1988 when we also lived in Phillips Ranch.  What a small world.  We had so much fun remembering things we had done and places we had gone.  (They took us to see a sneak preview of The Princess Bride.)  Lots of good memories.

Each day we spend most of the day working with 6 other people: practicing teaching and having discussions.  We have gotten to know them all very well.
It has been fun studying and laughing with them.  Yes, we are all old!

We actually escaped the MTC campus tonight for an adventure.  We went shopping and bought Craig two more suits.  We found a grocery store and bought some Wheat Thins.  We went to the Provo Temple, and finished up with a visit to the local Creamery (ice cream store).  A very enjoyable evening.

Only two days left.

  1. Marti, if you see the Robinsons again, will you tell them the Boltons say hi. Hopefully within the next 3 years we will be going on our first mission but for now I will read your blog and live vicariously through you. Enjoy.
